Blow-drying Tips

Hair Styling Tips
With a few good products and a little practice, anyone can turn a bad
hair day into a good hair day.

The important part is to start with damp hair. If it is too dry, spray
lightly with water.

(1) Towel dry hair use a large tooth comb or a pick
to gently comb out tangles. A leave in conditioner
is also recommended for hair that tangles easy.

(2) Now turn your head upside down and blow-dry
with your fingers drying at the root to add volume.
only dry about halfway then add your styling gel
or mousse, Then continue until its about 80% dry.

(3) Now section your hair in half to start on the bottom.
If you have bangs start there. With a brush about 1 1/2
larger brush will be necessary.

(4) Remember to aim the blow dryer down the shaft of
the hair to keep it smooth. When using the heat aimed at
the brush. Pull the blow dryer away and allow the hair to cool
down. If you have a cool button that works well too. Then
slowly pull the brush away.

(5) Now let the rest of the hair down 1 section at a time.
Repeat pulling the brush down the hair shaft and wrapping
it around the brush.

(6) After you finish drying you can use the cool button with
your head flipped over, or use some light hair spray to add
volume.

(7) After its all dry you can use a shine product or wax is fun
for those stick out choppy styles. Or even a pomade.

(8) If you want a fuller look to fine hair flip your head over
and with a pick slightly tease the root area. Then flip back and
smooth the hair down with you fingers so the outer layer is
smooth
then spray..........Then you can wax away on the tips to help
point them out.
What's Hot in Color for Fine Hair

Extremely thin fine hair will look thicker with darker color. When it is
too light, it looks "see-through."

It's not that you can't go blonde with fine hair. You should only go a few
shades lighter than your natural color or use a deeper base color and
highlight blonde on the top layers. This gives the  hair more dimension
and creates depth. Its a great optical illusion.

Full head color always seems to make the hair feel thicker: Semi and
Demi color can coat the hair and it may appear thicker.

Hairstyles: You have to remember that just because you like a certain
hairstyle, that does not mean it will work for you. Hairstyles depend on
the shape of your face; the texture of your hair; whether it's curly or
straight; how much maintenance you're willing to do. Book a
consultation with me to discuss these and other questions.

The right hairstyle begins by noting the shape of your face:

Round Face - you want to avoid lots of hair in your face. A slight fringe
instead of a full bang is a good idea. A side part is sometimes a good
suggestion.

Square Face - side part and nice layering is also good for a soft and
flattering look.

Oval Face - can pretty much get away with almost any hairstyle.

Long Face - Stay away from very short hair. Soft layers around the face
are always good.

Most people I know don't usually have simply a round, square or a heart
shaped face. More commonly, they have a combination of a couple of
shapes.

For example, you might have a long face and high cheek bones. You can
do fine with either tucked hair, or hair cut short around the ears.
There are many different combinations.
